Do you or any member of your household/family have a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 diagnosed in the last 14 days?
-
Do you have any of the following symptoms.
-
High temperature or fever?
-
New, continuous cough?
-
A loss or alternation to taste or smell?
If you answer yes to any of the questions, please call the practice on 0141 954 8951 for advice, otherwise please attend as normal.
Please note-
As we fall under health care, we continue to ask you to wear a mask, unless exempt, at the door and within the practice.
We continue to have a locked door policy and continue operating by appointment only.
This includes appointments for eye examinations, collections, dispenses, and adjustments.
We will try and accommodate you without an appointment as much as we can, but we still encourage you to call beforehand.
Please note some useful information below regarding the type of appointment you have -
Ages 60>
If you are over the age of 60 then we advise you not to drive to your appointment and if possible, find an alternative method of transport.
The reason we advise this is due to potentially having drops administered that dilate your pupils.
The length of time varies with each patient and how their body reacts to the drops before the pupils settle.
You are welcome to bring a chaperone to your appointment.
Please bring any glasses you are currently using.
It is also helpful to bring sunglasses for after the appointment.
Dilation app:
If you are booked in for a dilation appointment then we advise you not to drive to your appointment and if possible, find an alternative method of transport.
The length of time varies with each patient and how their body reacts to the drops before the pupils settle.
You are welcome to bring a chaperone to your appointment.
Please bring any glasses you are currently using.
It is also helpful to bring sunglasses for after the appointment.
Medications:
If you are currently using any medications, then please bring a list of these with you.
Contact Lenses:
If you are attending for a contact lens check then please bring your contact lenses, glasses, and a case with some solution inside for your contact lenses (if a monthly lens).
If you are currently on a trial for contact lenses, then please maintain a final set of lenses for your contact lens check appointment.
If you are not sure if you should be wearing your lenses to a contact lens check appointment, then please call the practice for advice.
*Please note that you must complete your contact lens trial in order for us to issue you with contact lenses for revenue.
If you use/lose/tear/discard lenses and then wish to order revenue lenses without completing your trial, then we will not be able to do this.
You must return and complete your trial.
If a long period of time has passed, and you have no access to contact lenses but still need to complete your trial, then please let us know in order for us to order lenses to allow to restart your trial.
There is no charge for trials.
We will never charge you for your contact lens trials.
*Please note that we do not stock revenue contact lenses.
All contact lenses are ordered in for patients.
If you are running low, then please advise us as soon as possible as delivery times vary widely with suppliers.
Late patient and non-attendance policy-
Late Patient:
We kindly ask that you advise the practice if you are going to be more than 10 minutes late for your appointment.
We will always try our best to accommodate you if you are running late, stuck in traffic, etc. but in certain cases, we may have to rebook your appointment.
However, if you are late or do not attend without cancelling then it can affect the appointment of patients who attend on time or stop us from helping other patients by offering the clinic time.
We appreciate the effort our patients make to attend on time and therefore do our best to run as close to booked appointment times as possible.
However, due to the nature of the clinic sometimes the practice may be running behind. When this is the case, our staff will advise the patients upon arrival.
Non-attendance:
Please note that when a patient fails to attend an appointment it costs the practice and NHS Scotland, at least, £39.82 for the clinic time.
If you fail to attend more than three appointments, then we will not be able to book an advanced appointment for you.
If you require an emergency appointment, have been referred or are having visual problems, then please call us and we will try our best to accommodate you on the same day.
Thank you.
